New Edra collection at Milan Design Week
Among the brands that stood out the most at this year's Salone del Mobile in Milan 2024 is certainly Edra, a company founded in 1987 that has always distinguished itself as a pioneer in the world of design. Known for its ability to combine traditional craftsmanship with technological innovation, Edra has consistently redefined the boundaries of contemporary design. At this year's Salone del Mobile, Edra presented a limited number of products, each of which captured attention for its uniqueness and sophistication, reaffirming its importance and influence in the international design landscape.
Among the most interesting products is the Standard outdoor sofa, an outdoor reinterpretation of the already famous Standard sofa by Edra, born from the creative genius of Francesco Binfarè. This outdoor seating features the "Intelligent Cushion," a completely new concept of relaxation resulting from years of reflection, studies, and technological research. The secret lies inside, hidden from view but immediately apparent in use: joints made of special materials allow it to be shaped at will, raised, lowered, or adjusted easily and effortlessly with a slight hand pressure.
The On The Rocks outdoor sofa consists of four independent elements with irregular shapes: three polygons and a quadrilateral, which offer endless combinations and configurations, making this sofa one of the most versatile on the market, capable of fitting perfectly into any garden or patio.

The Sherazade outdoor sofa, on the other hand, guarantees outdoor relaxation without any constraints, inspired by oriental influences. Comfort is ensured by the softness of the rectangular sommier padded with Gellyfoam® and batting, accompanied by various supports: two Thai pyramid cushions to use as backrests and two armrests, one rectangular and one cylindrical.
As tables and chairs often form the focal point of the domestic hearth, Edra includes in its list of novelties the Phantom table and the Milano chair, both created in collaboration with designer Jacopo Foggini. The former surely captures attention with its reflective material, natural mirror, which enhances its elegance and delicacy, and its ability to reflect and integrate with the surrounding environment makes it a unique piece. The chair, on the other hand, is intended as a true tribute to the city of Milan, to its sophisticated beauty, strength, and continuous upward movement: not coincidentally, the very high backrest of this seat is explicitly inspired by the façade of the Duomo, an iconic symbol of the Milanese metropolis.
As every year, Edra certainly did not disappoint the expectations of design experts who eagerly await the arrival of Milan Design Week, confirming once again as one of the top-performing brands in the entire international scene.
