Parentesi Suspension Lamp by PIO MANZÙ&ACHILLE CASTIGLIONI
The original lamp was born in 1971 from a sketch by the Italian designer Pio Manzù and from the skill of Achille Castiglioni, who had to reinterpret it after the premature death of Manzù, and completed the project with the design lighting brand Flos.Parentesi is one of the icons of the Italian company and one of its most innovative products; in fact, its particular structure is composed of a steel tube that allows the lamp to slide along the steel cable stretched from the ceiling to the floor. The shaped steel tube is available in black, white, nickel and red painted finishes, while the head of the lamp, containing the switch, is made of black molded elastomer.
Flos
Founded in the 1960s, Flos is one of the main Italian companies to have influenced not only the world of design, but also art in general, managing to reach the international public with its innovative and unprecedented works. The name itself, from the Latin "flower", well represents the idea that accompanies the company since its origins, that is to create objects that can change the traditional concept of living by metaphorically making them stem from a light bulb.
