Mathilda represents an everyday object that recalls a familiar form. Its design takes inspiration from modern architecture, striking a proportional balance between the whole and the detail. Patricia Urquiola's project is based on a simple yet effective idea, perfectly suited to its main function: two trestles that provide solidity and belonging, serving as support for the seat and allowing for stackability. The intuition behind the Mathilda chair has been developed thoughtfully and modestly, allowing the project to remain current and capable of evolving into a coherent, functional, and easily recognizable seating system.

The structure of the Mathilda chair is made of ash or oak, high-quality materials that ensure durability and longevity. The seat and backrest are padded with fire-retardant polyurethane foam of varying densities, guaranteeing optimal comfort. There are several options available, including the version with a "woven" backrest and padded seat. Additionally, the armrest covers can be customized with leather or fabric straps, adding a touch of refinement. Thanks to its stackability feature, up to 3 chairs can be stacked, optimizing space and facilitating the management of spaces where it is used.

The harmonious lines found in the Mathilda collection by Moroso, not only in the chair but also in the table and stool, evoke a sense of naturalness and balance, imparting an elegant and sophisticated touch to the spaces where these elements are placed.
