The Lyra armchair was realized for the first time with the name "Lira", in velvet, in 1916, designed by Renzo Frau and revived in 1934 with the classic Poltrona Frau leather upholstery, leader in made in Italy design.

The Lyra armchair is characterized by the formal style of the Victorian living room furniture, with rounded seatback and finishing with a row of leather-covered nails. The seat is extremely comfortable, thanks to its deep seat, the comfortable arms and a plush cuschion filled with goose down, while the upholstery of the chair is in rubberised horsehair.
Poltrona Frau realizes this model with a structure in seasoned beech wood, and the springing of the seat and backrest has biconic steel springs hand-tied and attached on jute webbing. The upholstery of the Lyra arm chair is available in Pelle Frau in System, Heritage and Soul colors, with the possibility of combination of leather and fabric for the structure and cushions.
