Canal is one of the news presented by Riva 1920 at the 2018  Milan Design Week.
This table with an essential look and geometric shapes was created by the award-winning Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola, who, inspired by the dining tables of the ecclesiastical refectories, has reinterpreted in a modern key the idea of conviviality understood as a moment of sharing among the guests, who share not only the meal, but also the mutual company. The Canal table has been designed to allow you to sit facing each other and place objects of various kinds in the center, along a partially recessed beam, which acts as a container and that can be reached by sitting on any side of the table. Another peculiar element of this piece of furniture is the presence of a handle on the shorter sides of the top, which makes it easy to move the table.
Canal is made entirely of solid wood worked with the craftsmanship of which is known the historic Italian company and available in three different finishes, oak with knots, vintage oak with knots, and walnut with knots, while the central beam is in metal painted in the colours of the collection.
