Profile of a President 1 is a sculpture conceived by the creative mind of Sandro Tomassini, intended to represent the profile of Obama (created during his presidency). In this version, the work features a natural steel metal stem, with six profiles in lightly stained natural wood applied to it, ironically reflecting the color of the President's skin.

It is a three-dimensional work where the profiles, with a simple touch of the fingers, move into different positions. One can transition from a distinct profile image (by placing them all close together) that highlights the importance of the President, to other forms that give rise to multiple interpretations; one of which suggests that the President, in addition to observing his own country, also has his gaze directed towards the rest of the world.

This work was selected as a semifinalist for the Mondadori Art Prize in 2013.
